how we support

Ford Forward aims to build meaningful relationships through personal one to one mentoring, connecting people with both faith and non-faith communities,  signposting and more
Hand reaching out to help
finding somewhere to live,     finding work,
renewing family relationships…
All these things can be incredibly stressful, and one of the most anxious experiences for many people in prison is the time approaching release
Sometimes there are no straightforward answers, but the Ford Forward team gets alongside people at these stressful times through one to one mentoring relationships
We seek to provide open, flexible, honest and confidential support, recognising the need for relationships that are caring and practical, offering hope, encouragement and patience
We believe change and transformation is possible for everybody, and want to support those who wish to change, working with people as individuals whilst respecting their needs and goals
We aim to offer direct support where possible, or signpost to other support organisations such as community chaplaincies, faith communities, and other mentoring groups
ongoing support
We recognise that continuity of relationship with our team can be important and will offer telephone support and further occasional meeting after our initial support period where appropriate and requested
